I am an alcoholic/addict with 10 years clean/sober I started into recovery with very bad credit as a result of 30 years addiction I accepted my consequences and began to rebuild my credit as well as my mental spiritual and physical condition,it was no ones fault but my own. After years of work and tons of money I managed to rebuild my credit score back to the mid 700′s.I take the time to sponsor several teen to twenty something recovering heroin addicts many from very well to do families,I try to lead by example and over 80 % of these young men have multiple years recovery and some have even graduated college and all have become productive members of society. Two years ago I had an unplanned heart attack ;as a direct result of using ;I did not make a deposit in time for a recurring payment and was charged $37.00 for which I have no problem paying, about two weeks after finally coming home from the hospital I received a call from a very nasty women who wanted the 37 bucks and when I explained my situation she said too bad and added a $7.00 a day fee I live in the country and finally went to the bank by which time I did not have enough to cover the hundreds of dollars so I said I would borrow the money and return as soon as possible the next dat my ATT account was terminated then my auto insurance carrier notified me of a 30% increase when I called they quoted my falling credit score ,I have since lost my apartment cannot afford security deposits for utilities and car loans are out of the question in the past 2 years my health has declined I have been admitted to psych hospitals and yet I still have faith in my higher power the many boys I sponsor have seen faith through diversity and yet I am worn out I have accepted the fact of death but now I cannot afford a prepaid funeral the big three credit reporting agencies and that so called hometown bank have done more damage than any drug drink shooting stabbing and they are legally allowed something is not right here.
